The Staffordshire Pikelet, the lesser known, but just as tasty cousin of the Staffordshire Oatcake. The Pikelet is made in exactly the same way, but is usually smaller and thicker than its cousin.

Unlike the Staffordshire Oatcake they are eaten with either melted butter or sweet fillings like jam, honey or marmalade.

Traditionally made by hand, baked, packed and posted to your door, usually by next day courier as pikelets have a short shelf life. Staffordshire Pikelets are suitable for home freezing and are also suitable for vegetarians.

Posting days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please note that postage prices are not included.

Take a look at our Staffordshire Oatcakes FAQs for more information about shipping costs, including courier surcharge (outside of Mainland England and Wales and some of Scotland) and all other postage options.

The Staffordshire Pikelet is best described by Arthur Berry in "Ode to the oatcake"

The pikelet you ask, what is that?
It's a sort of female oatcake
Smaller, thicker, sweeter
More immediately seductive
Sometimes with currants in it
A muffin for the working class
Best eaten soaked in butter
